Despite countless dazzling performances throughout the region and numerous interviews, her rise remains an enigma to many. Formerly known as the vocalist for the band “Zemlja Gruva,” she skyrocketed to immense popularity following her performance at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Her unusual blend of stage presence, lyrics, and music had the region buzzing, and soon, the phenomenon named Konstrakta emerged, showing no sign of slowing down.
Her preparations for Eurovision in Turin were met with unprecedented excitement. Despite being on the scene for 20 years, Konstrakta became an overnight media sensation. Her hit, “In Corpore Sano,“ flooded social media, with its iconic choreography being mimicked everywhere – from political forums to everyday conversations. Breaking countless norms, she inspired many, showing that success isn’t age-bound. She resonated with all – kids, teenagers, intellectuals, blue-collar workers, men, women, everyone – even receiving a gift from Patriarch Porfirije before heading to Turin.
Konstrakta enchanted all with her down-to-earth persona, handling fame with humility and subtly critiquing the entertainment industry, society, and conspiracy theories. Her influence made the alternative scene more visible than ever. Though she didn’t clinch the Eurovision title, her artistry didn’t go unnoticed. She was awarded the “Marcel Bezençon” prize for the best artistic performance in Turin and bagged two other awards for best lyrics and most innovative stage performance. Beyond this, she has received several nominations and was chosen to represent Radio Belgrade at the Eurosonic Festival in the Netherlands.
Without a doubt, Konstrakta has been the musical hallmark of the past year. Following Eurovision, she graced many regional festival stages and intrigued fans with her “Triptih.“ She made history as the EXIT festival’s first local headliner, leaving audiences in awe. This year, another triptych titled “Evo, obećavam“ solidified Konstrakta and her team’s uniqueness, setting high visual and musical standards and delivering powerful social messages.
