Over 20,000 fans danced until dawn to their favorite songs performed by pop and soul sensation John Newman, who, with his extraordinary performance, demonstrated why he is considered one of the biggest global stars of today, followed by the unforgettable set by global hitmaker Burak Yeter, regional mega-stars Konstrakta and Van Gogh, along with the brilliant Džambo Aguševi Orchestra, electronic music scene wunderkind Lanna, and producers/DJs The Geors.
“Many have worked over the past decades to further divide the people and nations in this region, but it’s exactly these kinds of gatherings that reverse that process, fostering love instead of hatred, peace instead of wars, and collaboration and understanding instead of disputes. Projects like this one restore hope and faith that a better future is possible not only here but also globally, and that is the essence of our cooperation with Strumica,” said the founder and CEO of EXIT festival, Dušan Kovačević.
The second Get EXITed party, which promises to become a new, splendid tradition, was also attended by the Mayor of Strumica Municipality, Kostadin Kostadinov, who highlighted the significance of this event.
“When you come to Get EXITed Strumica, you can feel the positive energy that is the central theme for both me and Dušan as the founder of EXIT festival. It truly is an honor and a pleasure to host this event for the second year in a row, and we will certainly hold it next year and the year after that. As long as we can spread positive energy in the Balkans, we will continue to do so because events like these unite us,” stated the Mayor of Strumica Municipality, Kostadin Kostadinov.
The phenomenal John Newman thrilled fans the previous evening with his special hybrid performance, bringing emotional melodies and danceable beats in perfect harmony, while the globally renowned Turkish producer and DJ Burak Yeter brought the atmosphere to fever pitch with his massive global hits. The audience enjoyed an eclectic and genre-diverse musical program brought by the region’s favorite artist Konstrakta and her band Zemlja Gruva, rock legends Van Gogh with their rich, timeless discography, and one of the best brass bands in the Balkans, Džambo Aguševi Orchestra, while the excellent electronic sound was further enriched by the first member of EXIT Echosystem Music & Talent Office, Lanna, and producers/DJs The Geors.
EXIT’s mission since its inception has been to connect the region and promote peace, as well as market destinations and enrich cultural offerings through the development of creative industries and festival tourism. This summer party to remember brought a spectacle to the beautiful Strumica City Park and affirmed its status as a new major tourist attraction in the Balkans, maxing out the accommodation capacities in Strumica and surrounding areas for the second year in a row.
