The electronic-music star’s second studio album arrives after a nine-year wait and is definitely one of the releases that will mark 2023 because, since the first days of January, Skrillex has not stopped releasing new music, which has delighted his fans. On the new album, he was joined by an all-star cast of 25 artists from the global music scene, including Missy Elliott, Noisia, Pete Wentz, Fred again.., Eli Keszler, Flowdan, Mr. Oizo, Four Tet, Aluna, Swae Lee and Porter Robinson. One of the places where he will present new music live this summer is the EXIT Festival, with which Skrillex shares a special connection!
In a review of the album, the well-respected global magazine NME writes: “Skrillex’s status in modern music remains unchallenged,“ while the great Billboard reported: “Feel the rumble? After a long nine years, Skrillex is back with his sophomore album.“
Just before the new album saw the light of day, Skrillex (Sonny Moore) posted this on Instagram: “I have no words to describe my emotions right now other than this is such a beautifully painful moment. I want to give love and thanks to everyone involved [in the album’s creation]. I hope you enjoy it!“
The album “Quest For Fire“ represents a new chapter in Skrillex’s illustrious career, crowned with as many as eight Grammy Awards. Skrillex arrives on EXIT’s Main Stage on 7th July, bringing new songs, but also all the old ones that redefined the dubstep genre, especially those from the previous studio album “Recess.“ This epic release and reform of the dubstep genre brought him to EXIT in 2014, while his performance and cancellation of several subsequent tour dates to stay at the festival for a few more days will remain forever etched in the history of EXIT.
Skrillex is an electronic music record holder with eight Grammy Awards, and how far he has come in his career is evidenced by the fact that his show in New York’s Madison Square Garden, the world’s most famous arena, was sold out in just a few seconds! On the other hand, we will witness first-hand the impact the album released today will have on the global music scene in the coming months and years.
