Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and other big names like Sepultura, Napalm Death, Molchat Doma, Marky Ramone, and Blind Channel are joined by 11 new bands, led by indestructible punk legends The Exploited. Guitar music has always been popular at the Petrovaradin Fortress, with epic performances by greats such as The Cure, Killers, Sex Pistols, and Guns’n’Roses. Rock @ Exit, the loud and distorted side of the festival, will echo again this summer, from 7th to 10th July on the Main and Visa Fusion stages, as well as at the festival’s epicentre of hardcore sound — the Explosive Stage.
Explosive will welcome all fans of hardcore, metal and punk in the deep trenches of the Fortress this summer as well, with almost 30 acts. At the head of the line-up of the extreme stage is the equally iconic Scottish punk band The Exploited. It has been exactly 40 years since their debut “Punk’s Not Dead” and their second album “Troops of Tomorrow,” both considered punk classics, and the veterans are ready to thunder from the Fortress once again!
These legends, who still rule the scene with an unwavering force, have influenced many bands in recent decades, including Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, but also Discharge, who will also perform at Explosive this year! The Exploited’s work covers a variety of subgenres from punk-rock and thrash metal to hardcore and street punk, so it is no wonder that they are considered one of the most important bands in the past four decades.
The nine other newcomers to the Explosive stage will be just as loud: Crown Court, Lamori, Bohemyst, Smrt Razuma, Šank, Vox Populi, Chain Cult, Hexis and War Engine. Thus, the programme on this stage has reached almost 30 acts, including the previously announced Bury Tomorrow, Discharge, Incantation, MDB, Nervosa, Tankard, Architect of Pain, Black Tooth, Chains, Heresy, Madvro, Misconduct, Noctiferia, Oathbringer, Progon, Shining, Stranger, Terminal Prospect and The Undertones.
The guitar-based sound on the Main Stage will be led by none other than Nick with his band The Bad Seeds, while acts that have written the history of metal and continue to write the history of hardcore, new wave and post-punk scenes — the iconic Brazilian Sepultura, legendary Birmingham quartet Napalm Death and Belarusian band Molchat Doma — are in charge of slightly more powerful frequencies.
Deca loših muzičara, a.k.a. DLM, are the latest announcement on the Visa Fusion stage. This Belgrade band was formed in 1988, bringing a combination of funk and rock. Their first album, “Dobardan!“ produced hits that are still alive today, followed by the releases “Prolećni dan“ (1995), “Virus“ (1998) and “…Gde cveta Samsung žut“ (2005).
They are in great company on the Fusion Stage, including Grammy Award winner and live punk icon Marky Ramone, the Finnish Blind Channel, the leading post-punk dark-wave band She Past Away, one of the most active and most attractive bands in the region Brkovi, reunited legendary punk band from Rijeka Paraf, as well as Prti Bee Gee, Vizelj, Coach Party and Sana Garić.
The EXIT Festival will take place at the Petrovaradin Fortress from 7th to 10th July and feature massive global and regional stars such as Calvin Harris, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, James Arthur, Masked Wolf, Joel Corry, Jax Jones, Alok, ATB, Boris Brejcha, Honey Dijon, Maceo Plex, Reinier Zonneveld, Monolink, Denis Sulta, Mathame, ZHU, ACRAZE, Sama’ Abdulhadi, ANNA, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Marky Ramone, Molchat Doma, She Past Away, Konstrakta, Brkovi, Paraf, Coach Party, Noisia, Deca loših muzičara, Sana Garić, Vizelj, Prti Bee Gee and many others with new announcements coming soon!
