Anyone who has felt the first rays of the sun in the early morning hours while the bass from the speakers of the mts Dance Arena still thumps commandingly knows what an irreplicable sensation it is – one that simply can’t be described in words but needs to be experienced. It’s why we all return to the largest open-air dance floor year after year. And in this game, one of the most special feelings at EXIT is when, after four days of dancing, your legs become tired, but very quickly, this fatigue is replaced by the awareness that the festival is ending. From that moment, the only mantra resonating in your head is, “I don’t want to go home yet.”
It’s precisely this enlightenment that numerous EXIT festival fans will reach on the mts Dance Arena with Keinemusik and music that is there to keep us bound to the dance floor until the very end. This crew will not only close everyone’s favorite stage, but will also continue the party at the official after-party, so we’ll be hanging out with them for at least six hours!
Keinemusik is described as a collective. Although they are indeed a group, they are also much more than that – first and foremost, they are friends. Under this name, they have been working together since 2009, while the team has expanded with new acquaintances. On the last night of Exit, Rampa, Adam Port, and &Me will take the stage. This crew doesn’t burden itself with genres, and when it comes to parties, they have liked to keep things under control from the very beginning – from making flyers, through visual spectacles, to, of course, the music. They leave nothing to chance. They are not unfamiliar with irony and comedy either, so their name literally means “No music.” They gathered in the clubbing capital of the world, Berlin, from where they began to spread their influence on the world clubbing scene. One of the crowns of their popularity (in addition to performing in all important clubs and at the world’s most prominent festivals) is their appearance in the famous GTA video game, where you can even attend their virtual party.
Although they are close collaborators, they are very different individuals. Rampa invests all his focus in production and a “less is more” approach, with a conscientious choice of when and where to perform. &Me is, in a way, his opposite – he got into music suddenly and relies more on instinct and fun, but that certainly does not mean he is not serious. On the contrary. When it comes to music, he gives 100 percent, which can be seen in collaborations and remixes he did with giants such as Royksopp (“Impossible“), Solomun (“Never Sleep Again“), Black Coffee (“The Rapture Pt. III“), DJ Koze (“Drone me up, Flashy“) and many others, and there is also the song “Confusion,“ produced by the whole team. Last but not least, there’s Adam Port – a man who tries to escape from any possible drawer the public attempts to put him in. He listens to trap, psychedelic rock, and opera arias, and all of that can be heard when you scratch beneath the recognizable tech house sound.
There are no heights in the electronic music world that the guys have not reached – if you can imagine it, they have it in their CVs. There’s a BBC Essential Mix, a Bolier Room appearance, and a set from Burning Man, which many know by heart. Those two hours of perfection contain only a fraction of what we can expect from the marathon performance at the closing of the mts Dance Arena, Exit’s temple of electronic music. Guided by tribal percussion and seductive, emotional melody, their production brings infectious positivity. As they like to say, for them, their tracks are no longer music but “memories from the road,” deeply immersed in the synths of the eighties and rhythms that overwhelm listeners like waves.
As we count down the days until the EXIT festival, we eagerly anticipate July 9, when their sound will warm up the last morning at the mts Dance Arena.
