Experts offer several tips to prevent dehydration during hot days, which are especially valuable for festival attendees:
- Avoid alcohol, particularly while waiting in line, as it can further dehydrate you and pose a risk in extreme heat.
- Whenever possible, take off your backpack to release excess heat while standing, walking, or dancing.
- While festival outfits are chosen with enthusiasm, keeping your body cool is the top priority on hot days. Choose lightweight, breathable clothing that lets you move freely and allows air to circulate.
- EXIT’s vibrant lineup invites you to explore the entire Fortress, but when the sun is shining, make sure to seek shade whenever possible!
- Hats or improvised caps and sunglasses are essential to protect your head and eyes from the bright sun, adding style and functionality to your festival look.
- Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to your face and exposed skin. SPF 30 is a good choice, but keeping your skin covered during the warmest days is also recommended.
- If you’re attending the festival with children or belong to a vulnerable group, inform security staff. Children in strollers should always be parked in the shade – simply covering the stroller can increase the temperature within and endanger your child.
- If at any point you feel weak or nauseous, seek help immediately from security staff.
