EXIT is a multiple award-winning music festival, founded in 2000, and since the beginning it has represented a place of musical pilgrimage for visitors from over 90 countries from all corners the world. The festival, which frequently tops lists of the best European and international music events, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021 under the symbolical slogan EXIT 2.0.
In its 20 years of existence, EXIT hosted some of the leading names of the international music scene, including: Pet Shop Boys, Billy Idol, The Cure, The Killers, Guns N’ Roses, Franz Ferdinand, Motörhead, Iggy Pop, David Guetta, Massive Attack, Liam Gallagher, Grace Jones, Faithless, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, The Prodigy, Migos, Sex Pistols, Kraftwerk, Korn, Moby, Arctic Monkeys, Chemical Brothers, Faith No More, LCD Soundsystem, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Pulp, Jamiroquai, M.I.A., Slayer, Ellie Goulding, Hardwell, Carl Cox, Avicii and many others.
EXIT was voted “Best Major Festival” at the European Festival Awards in Groningen, Netherlands in 2013 and 2017, but has also won “Best Overseas Festival” award in 2007, at the UK Festival Awards. Apart from the music industry awards, EXIT Festival has won the title of the Champion of Regional Cooperation, awarded by the Regional Cooperation Council. The award was received for connecting people from the Balkan region for more than two decades now, as well as for overcoming culturological, political and many other differences, as well as for promoting the spirit of tolerance, understanding and prosperity.
