The first in a series of releases announced for the upcoming period, in which the world-famous Swedish dance music icon looks back on his progressive house roots, was also an immediate favorite of his fans, who, before the release of the song, chose “Without You” as the start of an unstoppable wave of hits to follow!
The undeniable hitmaker, producer, and DJ took to social media before the release of the single, sharing short audio clips of several songs, asking which one they wanted to hear first, and the powerful and passionate “Without You“ was chosen as the absolute favorite! Alesso thus announced a series of releases that will undoubtedly conquer the planet and make the audience dance on EXIT Festival’s Gorki List Main Stage on July 8!
After dominating radio stations and festivals around the world last year with his hit single “Words“ featuring pop star Zara Larsson, “Without You“ is Alesso’s second track this year – following on from “Caught A Body,“ an upbeat collaboration with Grammy-nominated superstar Ty Dolla $ign. Judging by the announcements, this global hitmaker certainly does not intend to stop there!
In his latest releases, Alesso has once again proven that his influence transcends strict genre boundaries – whether it’s Liam Payne and the track “Midnight,“ “THE END“ with goth musician Charlotte Lawrence or the new “Without You,” Alesso is an indispensable presence on the dance music charts. His versatility is evidenced by previous collaborations with extremely diverse artists, including Katy Perry, Ryan Tedder (One Republic), Calvin Harris, Tove Lo, James Bay, Swedish House Mafia, and many others.
Along with previous hits such as the platinum “If I Lose Myself“ and the gold “Under Control,“ this Swedish artist also achieved substantial success with the song “Calling (Lose My Mind),“ which rose to the top of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. The dance anthem “Let Me Go,“ featuring Hailee Steinfeld and Florida Georgia Line, reached number nine on the same chart, while the stellar collaboration with Katy Perry on “When I’m Gone“ made it into the top 10 in numerous countries around the world.
