This ancient deity, Earth Mother, represents the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. Pachamama is the force that invokes a nurturing spirit towards our planet, reminding everyone of their responsibility to protect and preserve the environment we call home. For six years now, the Pachamama stage, powered by Rosa, has been a gathering point and haven for people from all over the world who perceive music as much more than entertainment, connect with themselves through tunes, and wish to pay homage to Mother Earth. This documentary encapsulates the spirit of the enchanting Pachamama amidst the vibrant tapestry of the EXIT festival, telling stories of awareness, unity, freedom, and love.
Celebrations dedicated to Pachamama bring people from various backgrounds together to pay tribute and appreciate the abundant gifts of nature. People express gratitude for Earth’s plentiful resources through diverse rituals, concurrently pledging to protect its delicate equilibrium. Pachamama’s universal message of interconnectedness resonates with people worldwide, inspiring collective commitment to safeguard our environment and build a sustainable future for generations to come. By acknowledging Pachamama’s presence, we are reminded of the interconnectedness of all living beings and the importance of living in harmony with the natural world.
EXIT’s Pachamama stage, powered by Rosa, is the epicenter of new-age conscious music, a gathering point for those who understand their role in the world and are unafraid to explore their deepest self. For six years, this stage has attracted musicians, dancers, facilitators, and visitors from all around the world who, from the most beautiful point on the Fortress, have reveled in the freedom and simplicity of life. The documentary, “Pachamama – The Tale of Conscious Music,” features the voices of Devi Mohan of the Mohanji Foundation, multi-instrumentalist, and world music representative Praful, medicinal music representative Laor, opera singer Zoran Todorović, and many others. They shared why this place is important to them, what music brings to them, and why it is so powerful.
“Music, to me, is not just entertainment; it’s something that connects me to my higher self or my inner core, to that quiet place untouched by the world’s events,” Praful explained. Music has a profound ability to establish a deep connection between individuals and their inner selves. As melodies and rhythms intertwine, they evoke emotions and stimulate memories, offering a path to self-discovery.
Through the universal language of music, a journey of self-exploration can commence, where layers of everyday life disappear. “When we listen to a certain type of music or sing together, we recall something we’ve forgotten or knew from centuries or millions of years ago. Music evokes memories of something deeply ingrained in our humanity,” said the incredible Laor, whose song “Hymn To The Soul” touched the hearts of hundreds of thousands around the world.
Renowned baritone, Zoran Todorović, suggests music creates rituals: “Conscious music is important to me because it introduces a ritual, and to awaken consciousness, a ritual must exist.” Festivals are a fusion of music and dance, a unique point where rhythm and movement are inseparable. Dance is a language of its own, transcending words and expressing the most profound emotions through physical movement. “I believe festivals are the Mecca and Medina, where consciousness awakens first through the ritual of dance. Dance connects us; whenever we start moving our bodies, we enter our relationship with ourselves through dance,” Zoran added.
“Conscious dancing proves that we don’t need any external substance to reach that state, as awareness itself is the fullness that expands from within like a fountain,” Devi Mohan, who has been successfully leading conscious dancing workshops for years, explained. “This vibration resonates with people who want to work on themselves, who don’t want to depend on any substances to reach that state, because then the state is yours, not dependent on substances,” she stressed.
Whether it’s a ballad that stirs the soul, an optimistic beat that ignites our spirit, or a haunting melody that provokes introspection, music has an incredible ability to reach into the depths of our emotions and bring about a profound sense of understanding and connection. Dance provides an irresistible sense of freedom, where societal expectations and limitations disappear. Every step and every movement allow us to communicate with our soul in a way words cannot capture.
The Pachamama stage powered by Rosa is the ultimate home of freedom and peace, a festival within a festival that brings a fresh taste of music that knows no genre labels or boundaries. It is playful, independent, and untamable, and as such, it offers each individual the opportunity to feel the same. This stage is a rhythmic paradise that, year after year, brings visitors the biggest names in world music and a series of incredible performances that will bring the essence of the first consciousness festival in our region, Ada Divine Awakening, to EXIT.
