And EXIT made its mark, securing a spot among the top 10. This honor, bestowed by over 100,000 fans who cast their votes for their favorite festivals, places EXIT shoulder-to-shoulder with iconic events like Tomorrowland, Glastonbury, and Coachella. Just like last year, EXIT outperformed some major festivals, leaving the likes of Burning Man, Lollapalooza, Sziget, Primavera, Sonar, and many others in its wake!
EXIT is distinctive on this list for championing a multi-genre approach for over two decades. Besides hosting global superstars on its Main Stage annually, one of the festival’s most recognized attributes internationally is its Dance Arena, hailed as a leading hub for electronic music enthusiasts. Significant contributions also come from stages like NSNS, which has grown into its own multi-award-winning festival, and others such as Fusion, Gang Beats, Reggae, and Explosive, all set within the historic Petrovaradin Fortress.

This is the third time DJ Mag has rolled out its list of the world’s best festivals, and each time, EXIT has been near the top of the pile. While the audience had the chance to vote twice, in 2019, only DJs were invited to cast their votes. Being recognized as one of the top festivals by DJs and securing such a high position consecutively based on fan votes is a testament to EXIT’s acclaim.
DJ Mag’s lists, which include the Top 100 Festivals, Top 100 DJs, and Top 100 Clubs, are revered standards in the music industry, particularly in the realm of electronic music. This UK-based magazine, with a rich thirty-year legacy focusing on electronic beats, enjoys widespread distribution worldwide in countries like the US, Spain, France, Italy, China, and the Netherlands.
Over the past 20 years, global media giants have been abuzz about EXIT. Accolades have poured in from powerhouses such as CNN (touting it as one of the “World’s Top 5 Festivals”), The Guardian (dubbing it the “World’s Best Festival”), The Sun (describing it as “One of Europe’s most popular music events”), Euronews, New York Times, BBC (which placed it among the “Top 3 Music Festivals”), Forbes (which remarked, “Thanks to EXIT, Serbia is a festival hotspot worth your attention”), The Times, MTV, Daily Mail, The Independent, Lonely Planet, and countless others. Additionally, EXIT Festival has thrice been crowned the best European festival: at the European Festival Awards in 2013 and 2017 and at the UK Festival Awards in 2007.
