Metallica were excited to announce on social media that Epica would join them for concerts in two cities this month — Paris and Hamburg.
The band Epica also took to Twitter on this occasion, saying that they were honored to support Metallica at the band’s concerts in Paris on May 17 and Hamburg on May 26, as well as that this would be considered a career highlight for any metal band and that they couldn’t wait to join the tour.
The unstoppable sextet Epica, led by the unique vocalist Simone Simons, have eight studio albums in their music portfolio, half of which reached the top 10 best-selling list in the Netherlands. Festival fans will have the opportunity to hear them at the EXIT festival in less than two months! As a special honor and confirmation of their success, the symphonic-metal sensation was invited to join today’s biggest and most influential heavy metal band, Metallica, as an opening act at concerts in Paris and Hamburg this month.
Epica achieved international recognition with its LP releases “Requiem for the Indifferent“ (2012) and “The Quantum Enigma“ (2014), finding its place on the American Billboard 200 chart. They’ve also won the prestigious Music Export Award, which was awarded to them in 2015 as the most successful internationally recognized Dutch band, while the album “The Holographic Principle“ from 2016 was ranked tenth on the Loudersound list of the best symphonic-metal LPs.
