This pace will continue right up until the start of his tour on September 21. The third track from the album, “Woman Rising,” will be a treat for local fans who will get to experience it live on September 23 at Barutana as part of Dub FX’s “Infinite Reflection Tour.”
True to form and as fans have come to expect, this visionary artist has delivered a strong message. This time, it’s a duet with an Australian rapper and singer, who also happens to be his wife, Sahida Apsara. Their powerful lyrics are set to a beat that invites dance and movement. As Dub FX himself shared, “Woman Rising” was conceived during a live stream amidst the coronavirus pandemic, while its lyrics, inspired by the powerful “Me Too” movement, were penned several months later.
“I was deeply moved by the countless harassment and abuse stories, especially those shared by close friends and family. It highlighted the challenges of being a woman in today’s society. I’m honored to create music with my wife, who, in this particular song, sheds light on a broader theme aiming to raise awareness. This is a conversation we all need to engage in to ensure a safer environment for women everywhere,” said the artist.
Dub FX kicks off his 15th European tour titled “Infinite Reflection” on September 21. Just two days later, on September 23, he will land in Belgrade, where he’ll showcase his much-anticipated new album at Barutana. Fans can expect not only new music but also a mesmerizing experience – a unique blend of energetic and immersive performances that promise to transport attendees to another realm. To heighten the anticipation, Dub FX will be releasing a single every Friday leading up to the event.
The new event by EXIT, organized in collaboration with Barutana, brings Dub FX’s distinctive sound to fans and, as the artist himself emphasized, a new dimension to live performances. This is not the first collaboration between EXIT and the Australian musician. He has performed twice at EXIT Festival, in 2014 and 2019, with his strong connection with the local audience further highlighted by a street show in the heart of Novi Sad in 2014.
A very limited number of tickets for Dub FX’s Belgrade show are available here, as well as at Gigs Tix’s physical locations and online store, at a promotional price of 1,400 RSD.
