Peaceful travellers, above all, are grateful for the opportunity to travel and experience the world and are committed to tolerance and appreciation of diversity.
All EXIT attendees arriving in Novi Sad from over 120 countries and various parts of the world who have purchased tickets online for this year’s edition of the EXIT festival will receive the credo of the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism, presenting the principles that characterise a peaceful traveller.
“Because peace begins with the individual, I affirm my personal responsibility and commitment to journey with an open mind and gentle heart, accept with grace and gratitude the diversity I encounter, revere and protect the natural environment which sustains all life, appreciate all cultures I discover,” reads part of the credo of the peaceful traveller.
Peaceful travellers express gratitude to their hosts for the welcome, extend hands of friendship to everyone they meet, support tourist services that share these views, act in accordance with them, and encourage others through their thoughts, words, and actions to travel the world in peace.
On this occasion, the EXIT festival and the Institute for Peace Through Tourism appeal for the cessation of all conflicts and wars and draw attention to the fact that if only a portion of the budget globally invested in armaments were redirected to nobler causes, humanity would quickly solve most of its problems. Since its inception, EXIT has been a strong proponent of peace, tolerance, and non-violent conflict resolution. Peace and non-violence are the essential preconditions for the evolution of human awareness. Music, art, and tourism represent the best ways for different people and cultures to connect and understand each other. EXIT is proud to have actively and continuously promoted peace, unity, tolerance, love, and non-violence in the Balkans and beyond through all its festivals, projects, and campaigns such as “Silent Balkans Majority”, “Share Love”, “First World Peace”, and many others for the past 23 years.
The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT) is dedicated to making tourism the world’s first “global peace industry,” believing that every traveller is a potential “Ambassador for Peace.”
IIPT’s primary goal is to foster a better understanding and cooperation among people and nations, protecting the environment and cultural heritage and thereby creating a more peaceful and sustainable world through the development of tourism.
