Block Out were formed in 1990 under the name "Ad Hoc", but due to existence of a Macedonian band with the same name, soon they change the name to Block Out. The project leader, Nikola Vranjković, joins the band in 1991 after living in Moscow, and touring with the commercial pop band Ruž. After the outbreak of the Yugoslav wars, the band played numerous gigs in London clubs, with their setlist mainly in English. Their debut album, named Crno, belo i srebrno (English: Black, White and Silver) was released in 1994. and was named the best album in 1996 by the Belgrade City Assembly. So far, the band have released four studio albums, with frequent tours all around the region.
